3 DOORS DOWN PREPS FOR 2-SET SHOW AND CHARITY EVENTS AT HARRAH'S CHEROKEE ON OCTOBER 21

CHEROKEE, NC - October 6, 2017

The stage is set at Harrah's cherokee Casino Resort for 3 Doors Down's 14th annual concert to benefit The Better Life Foundation (TBLF). This year's show will be extra special, as 3 Doors Down is performing a 2-set show. It promises to be a rockin', fun-filled day AND night.There are many ways to help this worthy cause and many ways to have fun!

MOTORCYCLE RAFFLE
Raffle tickets for a custom Harley Davidson Softail Slim motorcycle are available for purchase at TheBetterLifeFoundation.org or at Harrah's Cherokee gift shops.

MOTORCYCLE RIDE
On October 21 at 9:30am, the motorcycle ride-in will begin at Asheville Harley Davidson, in Asheville, NC. The group will rendezvous with even more riders at Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley before converging on Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort. The ride cost is $30 and includes a commemorative long sleeve tee shirt and admission to the Rider Reception with food and beverages. All vehicle types are welcome.

SILENT AUCTION
One of the fan-favorite events is the silent auction. An array of sports and music memorabilia will be available and open to the general public. This year's list of items includes a Gene Simmons-signed bass guitar, a guitar signed by STYX, a Stone Temple Pilots poster signed by Chester Bennington, a 2016 Nationwide replica helmet signed by Dale Earnhardt Jr and much, much more.

2017 marks the second year in a row that Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort has hosted the event. In 2016, over $500,000 was raised by Harrah's Cherokee for TBLF. Since its founding, TBLF has raised and donated over $3,000,000 to reputable children's charities, veteran's organizations, local municipalities and faith-based groups to achieve its goals of helping communities and children in need. We are excited to share some of the fun details for our Crafts and Crop Day! Watch the process of shelling corn, to grinding, and then making your own small corn bread on the open hearth. Watch the process of gathering hay with horses, being demonstrated by NC Workhorse and Mule Association. Learn how to gin cotton and then go ahead and make your own broom and corn husk doll. There will be fun games to participate in as well, like sack races and corn hole. NENC Healthy Living will also be on-site with resources to educate visitors about eating healthy and staying active. If you like eating contests, well, prepare yourself for our first corn-on-the-cob eating contest! We will also be giving guided tours with costumed interpreters. So come on out and spend the day with us, from 10 am - 3 pm on Saturday October, 21st!

The event consists of a motorcycle ride, silent auction, custom-built motorcycle raffle and concert. October Lupus Foundation Support Group- New Hanover County
