Brown Bag Gam: U.S. Life-Saving Service Operations in NC | 12pm - 1pm
Pack a lunch for the Brown Bag Gam during your lunch hour and join Associate Curator Benjamin Wunderly to learn about the United States Life- Saving Service Operations in North Carolina. Learn about the different stations that existed along the coast and what daily life was like for those in the service. The responding crews of United States Life-Saving Service were often the only hope of survival for shipwrecked victims along the North Carolina coast. The rescues performed by these men were some of the most heroic in

Cape Lookout Albacore and Redfish Festival | all day
Make plans to join us at this year’s Cape Lookout Albacore and Redfish
Festival, the Crystal Coast’s premiere fly fishing and light tackle tournament/event. The CLARF is a three day event aimed to raise money for Project Healing Waters. The first day is a private Healing Waters Day for Disabled Veterans followed by the Public Festival and Tournament on the second and third days. The Tuna Run 200 is an amazing, overnight relay adventure in which you and your friends Run 200 Scenic Miles to finish at the beach and enjoy tuna and your beverage of choice after a job well done. Carteret Big Sweep - Fishing4Plastic Tournament | 7am - 4:30pm
We invite you to join us for an adventurous and rewarding day of “Fishing 4 Plastic” to help clean up our ocean. We anticipate finding plastic and debris from the recent hurricanes traveling up from the south via the Gulf Stream.
Tournament participants will join teams and venture offshore to collect plastics from Sargassum (seaweed) mats near the Gulf Stream, weather permitting.

The Carteret Community Theater in Morehead City will be the venue for the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble (NCYTE). According to Michael N. Horowitz, President of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Human Rhythm Project, this group is “…the premier youth tap ensemble in the world.” The Ensemble features approximately 40 dancers, ages 8 to 18, who all hail from North Carolina.
