Many people nationwide will be glued to their television sets starting Friday as the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics get underway.

And some of those people will be local gymnast right here in Eastern Carolina.

We stopped by Rose's Gym in Greenville and found some young gymnast training to one day achieve Olympic gold themselves. Now, even though they were physically in Greenville, their minds and Olympic dreams were miles away in Beijing.

There are not many afro american children in gymnastics, but the ones that are have a as much talent as any other child and if their parents struggle to keep them there...they should be recognized a little bit too. I didn't see that on August 8th while witn 7 was at Roses gymnastics. From what I saw one little Afro-American girl was very good. They deserve exposure too!
