Dave Jordan has been covering news in Eastern Carolina for more than a decade. He started at WITN-TV in 1997.
Dave anchors WITN News at 5:30 p.m., WITN News at 6:00 p.m. and WITN News at 11 p.m. weekdays. He is the Executive Producer of WITN News at 6 p.m. Dave also reports, crafting special series on important issues impacting Eastern Carolina.
His interest in broadcasting began back in high school, in a small Pennsylvania town called Sheffield. He was a student there in 1982, when students had the opportunity to broadcast school news for a local radio station. Dave has either been behind the microphone or in front of the camera ever since.
Dave graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 1988 with a degree in communications. He worked for several radio stations in Pennsylvania, including Clarion, Altoona and Pittsburgh. His desire to get into television led him to Clarksburg, West Virginia, where he started his television career as an anchor and reporter.
Dave's has covered a wide range of stories in his career. From politics to consumer news, from daily general stories to breaking news, he has shared many facets of Eastern Carolina life with viewers. Dave has won many awards for his reporting, from the North Carolina Associated Press and other organizations.
Dave enjoys being involved in the community. He volunteers with Literacy Volunteers, the United Way, Rotary, the Red Cross and with Children's Miracle Network.
When he's not working, you can find Dave enjoying Eastern Carolina with his wife, Stephanie, and their kids, David and Grace. They live in Beaufort County with their two dogs, Sam and Charlotte.
