Lynnette Taylor Bio Save Email Print
Name: Lynnette Taylor
Title: Anchor/Reporter

email: lynnette.taylor@witntv.com

Lynnette Taylor is a “Carolina Girl” who has returned to her roots. As a former employee of WITN-TV, Lynnette came back to the team in early 2007 as our weekend anchor and as a weekday reporter. Lynnette has recently teamed up with Dave Jordan and now serves as co-anchor for WITN News at 5:30.

Lynnette graduated from East Carolina University with a Broadcast Journalism degree and immediately started working at WITN as an Associate Producer. In less than a year, she accepted a position at WITN-TV as a reporter and was later promoted to weekend morning anchor. During her tenure, she reported on issues which affected Eastern Carolina, like Hurricane Floyd. After four years in that position, she moved to the Sunshine State to become the morning and noon anchor for WCJB-TV 20 in Gainesville, Florida. Lynnette also featured local adoptable children in the foster care system. Many of them were successfully adopted into permanent homes.

Lynnette has a love for the community and volunteering. She has coordinated a nighttime meal service for the homeless three days a week and visited prison inmates for religious service. She mentored aspiring University of Florida Journalism Students and was Honorary Mistress of Ceremony for the Ronald E. McNair Program at the University of Florida for the past four years.

Lynnette arrived back to Eastern Carolina with her husband, who is an East Carolina University Professor. She enjoys spending time with her family, who also still live in Duplin, Durham and Wake Counties. Lynnette also offers assistance for programs within her church, works for her neighborhood Homeowner’s Association and spoils her Shih Tzu, Henri.
