Lindsey Fry joined the WITN news team in 2012. She is a general news reporter and videographer for WITN and witn.com.
Lindsey has always had a passion for news. Keeping up with local and national events, particularly unsolved crime, became an obsession for her at a young age.
"I love being the first to inform people about a news story or event," Lindsey says. She says the thrill of researching and investigating keep her glued to her job. After interning at a local TV station in her hometown in Arkansas, she knew the newsroom was where she needed to be.
Lindsey graduated in 2010 from Lyon College in Batesville Arkansas, where she majored in English and Journalism. Following graduation, she worked as a producer in Little Rock, Arkansas. A year later, she ventured to Minot, North Dakota to begin her career as a reporter. She arrived in Minot just as the flood waters began to overtake the city and 40,000 residents lost their homes.
"It was during this time that I fell in love with reporting," Lindsey says. "The people needed answers and someone to trust during this time of confusion, and I was honored to be that person."
The news business is one in which people often live in different locations. Lindsey’s goal has always been to end up in North Carolina.
“I think it is so beautiful here, and I am so excited to finally be able to say I live in North Carolina!"
