April combined her writing and people skills to major in broadcast journalism and knew she made the right choice when she took her first journalism job in Anchorage, Alaska. She was recognized with Alaska Press Club Awards for her stories about the dangers of flying in Alaska and the murder of the director of State Troopers. She also met lots of amazing people as she covered the Iditarod Sled Dog Race for several years. April appeared on CNN’s Nancy Grace covering a trial in which a former Miss Savannah was accused of murder. She helped a sister station in Louisiana report on the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and will never forget the resilience of the survivors. After many years on the crime beat, April got to have some fun as a morning anchor in her hometown of Greenville, SC.
Now April lives in Greenville, NC with her dog and loves to hike, and explore the Inner and Outer Banks.
