East Carolina powers past Virginia 10-1

East Carolina put up five runs in the first inning Friday evening on its way to a 10-1 five-inning victory over Virginia to begin the Pirate Invitational at the ECU Softball Stadium.


Joe Ingle tossed two perfect innings of relief and T.J. Riles produced his second-straight game-winning hit as No. 11 East Carolina took game one of the three-game set from La Salle 7-3.
