ROUND 3: NCHSAA State Basketball Playoffs

The following scores are from Saturday's slate of games in the third round of the NCHSAA state basketball playoffs.


The Tar Heels won a thriller at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Saturday night as they took down ECU, 5-4.


The ECU softball team had the lead in both of its games Saturday on day two of the Pirate Invitational, but fell to Ball State 7-2 and Canisius 4-3 in eight innings at the ECU Softball Stadium.


The ECU women's basketball (15-13, 7-8) fell to Temple (11-17, 3-12) 65-64 in a tightly contested American Athletic Conference game. The Pirates honored Thais Oliveira, Tania Pierre-Emile and Mickayla Sanders as the team's three seniors prior to tip-off.
