Ayden-Grifton High School wrestler Brandon Armstrong helped lead the Chargers to their first team appearance in the Class 1-A state championships and now has his sights set on an individual title.
The junior wrestler has improved during each of his three years on the team. As a freshman Armstrong's record was a less than impressive 7-19.
He then worked extremely hard in the off season and during practices and finished his sophomore campaign at 45-7. So far this season he has a 46-5 record and helped lead his team to the state championships. A big feat considering the wrestling program at Ayden-Grifton is only five years old.
