The Southside High School girls basketball team is ranked #10 in the latest class 1-A state poll and a big reason for the Seahawks' success has been the play of sophomore guard Katisha Hyman.
Katisha Hyman is a rare talent. She has only been playing the game of basketball for five years but has already developed into one of the best players in the 1-A classification.
Hyman is averaging 19 points, 4 assists, 5 rebounds and 6 assists a game this season leading her team to a 17-4 record.
WITN's player of the week will look to lead her team all the way to a state title. The Seahawks begin Four Rivers Conference Tournament play against Roanoke Tuesday (Feb. 16) at 7pm.
