N.C. State Advances To Super Regional

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Tarran Senay homered and drove in five runs and North Carolina State earned a spot in the NCAA super regionals by routing William & Mary 9-2 on Sunday night.

Senay hit a three-run homer in the first and a two-run single in the eighth to lead the top-seeded Wolfpack (47-14).

They beat the third-seeded Tribe (39-24) for the second straight night while finishing the Raleigh regional 3-0.

Jake Fincher and Logan Ratledge each had three hits and an RBI to help N.C. State reach the super regionals for the second straight year, and third time since 2008. The Wolfpack will face the winner of the regional hosted by Oregon.

The Tribe's Jackson Shaver hit an RBI double in the seventh to snap the N.C. State pitching staff's string of 22 2-3 straight scoreless innings -- which began in the second inning of Friday night's 4-1 win over Binghamton.
