Southside Girls Advance To East Regional Finals

Fayetteville -- The Southside High School girls basketball team advanced to the 1A East Regional final game by winning a low scoring affair 48-31 over Southeast Halifax.

Katisha Hyman led the Seahawks in scoring with 13 points while Valerie Ruffin added 12 points and Deandria Purdue chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.

Southside improves to 28-3 on the season.

    These girls need support!!! Everyone that can make it needs to go to Fayetteville on Saturday and cheer these girls on! They have worked really hard to come this far! Good job Lady Seahawks! I am so proud of all of you!
