Rocky Mount Academy Football Player Paralyzed In Game Comes Home

It's been more than 2 months since a Rocky Mount Academy football player took a hard hit in a football game against Parrot Academy and was paralyzed from the neck down. Wednesday he came home.

Colt Brake was treated at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta since October. More than 100 people cheered for Colt Brake as he arrived home. The 16-year-old is now confined to a wheelchair. Colt arrived at a home that looked a lot different than the one he left in October. Friends helped upgrade the Brakes home- making it wheel chair accessible. Family friend Lisa Gennosa says she hopes one day colt will walk.
"Our hope is that we've done all this for nothing and he is going to get up out of that wheelchair and walk. Modern day medicine changes everyday, and there is hope, and that's whats important. There is always going to be hope," said Gennosa.

The family says they still need a full size van to transport Colt.
