The top seed New Bern Bears improved to 10-0 on the season with an easy 42-7 victory over Clayton on Friday in the first round of the North Carolina State High School Playoffs. New Bern defensive lineman Carter Roberts had three sacks in that game.
Roberts also excels off the field with a 4.2 grade point averaging while holding down a part time job.
