West Craven High School quarterback Demetres Abrams passed for 167 yards and accounted for three touchdowns in the Eagles' 27-13 season opening win over South Brunswick.
But Abrams is more than just a star on the football field. He was also the starting point guard on a West Craven basketball team that made it all the way to the Eastern Regionals in Fayetteville this past season.
Abrams averaged
12.3 points, 3 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game.
