Oakwood, Greenfield & Ridgecroft Among Local Teams In Girls NCISSA Tournament

The brackets have been posted for North Carolina's Independent Schools and the season continues for a number of Girls Basketball squads from the WITN viewing area.

Arendell Parrott Academy in Kinston is the lone Divsion two squad in our area and their season continues. The Parrott girls locked in the #15 seed and will face 24-1 Village Christian of Fayetteville in the opening round.

Raleigh's Word of God has the top spots in Division 1A locked up as both the girls and the boys have the state's #1 ranking.

The Oakwood Eagles from Greenville picked up the two seed with a 17-3 record and will face #15 Davidson Day School Tuesday in Greenville.

Wayne Country Day School from Goldsboro secured the #3 seed in 1A and will play Elon School in the first round.

Wilson's Greenfield School, one of four CPIC schools in the tournament, has the #5 seed and will take on Cape Fear Christian in the opening round.

The Ridgecroft Rams from Ahoskie finished 21-3 and that honor earned them the 9 seed and they will open at Cresset Christian.

Hobgood Academy's Girls garnered the 11th seed and they'll journey to Statesville Christian for the first game of the tournament.

The final CPIC team in the tournament is the Faith Christian Patriots from Rocky Mount. They're seeded #13 and will travel to Trinity Christian for their first round game.

The 1A championships take place at Carolina Day School in Asheville while the 2A crown will be decided at Asheville Christian Academy
