High School Football Games For Nov. 5th

Here's a preview of the games the WITN sports team will highlight on tonight's edition of Football Friday.

Ayden-Grifton at Goldsboro:
The Carolina Conference title is up for grabs as both teams head into the game with 4-0 records against conference opponents.

Tarboro at Beddingfield:
This game will determine the winner of the Eastern Plains Conference. Tarboro is currently in first place with a 5-0 record in conference play while Beddingfield is 4-1 against league opponents. A Beddingfield win would give the teams identical league marks, however, Beddingfield would win the conference title thanks to the head-to-head tiebreaker. Tarboro Would claim the title with a win and finish as the league's only unbeaten team.

Havelock at West Craven:
This is a big game for both teams, but especially for Havelock. The Rams are in first place in the Coastal Conference. A win by the Rams locks down the conference championship, but a loss by the Rams coupled with a South Central win over D.H. Conley means South Central will take home the title.

South Central at D.H. Conley:
South Central needs a win and a Havelock loss to claim the regular season title in the Coastal Conference.

New Bern at J.H. Rose:
The Bears are 9-0 and ranked #7 in the latest A.P. Class 4-A state poll. New Bern is looking to complete the regular season with a win over their old rivals and and a perfect 10-0 record.

Southside at Northside:
A big rival game in the Four Rivers Conference. Southside is 7-3 overall and headed to the playoffs in year one of the new DeWayne KJellum Era while Northside at 3-7 is looking for an upset in the season finale.

South Creek at Riverside:
An old rival game with a new name. South Creek, formerly Roanoke, has yet to win a game this season. Riverside, formerly Williamston, heads into the game with an impressive 8-2 record and looking forward to the Class 1-A state playoffs.

James Kenan at Wallace - Rose Hill:
Both teams are playoff bound. The Bulldogs are ranked #1 in the state with a 10--0 record while Kenan is 6-4 overall and a win over the Bulldogs on the road would do wonders for the Tigers' confidence heading into post season play.

North Pitt at kinston:
While Tarboro and Beddingfield will battle for the conference title, Kinston is battling for position in the state playoffs. At 8-2 overall, a Vikings win over a struggling North Pitt team would help in seeding for the first round.

Hertford Co. at Bertie:
Bertie will round out a difficult season with a showdown against a very tough conference opponent. Bertie heads into the game with a 2-8 record while Hertford County is 7-3.

Another win over the rivals South Creek! Tough season for them! I'll be willing to bet that South Creek would still have given Creswell a game, and beat Columbia, Mattamuskeet, and Cape Hatteras without a problem. Anyways Go Knights! Rough up the jerks from Perquimans. Also OBX Anonymous, I'm expecting the Plymouth Vikings to get revenge from your Deadskins and knock them out for a 2nd year in a row.

Well now, isn't that "the pot calling the kettle black". Reread the post from November 6 at 11:55 a.m. Who's calling who names? And are you not doing a bit of "horn tootin" as well? Seriously, don't be rude and people won't get defensive.

Nothside Football is a joke! No discipline, reflection of the coach. A change is needed but who will change it> certainly not coach Boyd or Ms. Moore

Well another wonderful 3 win season for Northside Football. If Coach Boyd was in Pitt Co he would never of coached football this long. Not a winning season since he took over, its not the players. Northside will never have a winning season as long as Coach Boyd remains the head Coach, and since he is the AD as well, guess we all are looking forward to another embarrassing season next year. Its a broken record season after season and nothing is done about it. Southside is great example of the meaning "A Coach does matter".

Actually, Manteo and Plymouth tied for the regular season. Manteo only got the #1 seed because of the win against Plymouth. And we all know a blind squirrel gets lucky and finds an acorn every once in a while. Also, why do you insist on being rude and calling Plymouth and Riverside names?? Are you that immature? Or just scared that the Redskins may have a rematch with one or both of those two teams?? Great job to the KNIGHTS and the VIKINGS on a good season....let's keep it going guys!!
