They should really get rid of Kevin Yost over at WC since he took over the program its been on the down and out. When the Jordan era left (Ryan Murphy, Justin Hardy, Tyree Dawson) in 2009 it went down from there. Yost shows no coaching talent and he doesnt see player talent he just wants to look good for him self and not the team. In 2009 I liked the Murphy defense (Kavonte Staten, Tormel Murriel, Taj Harris, Nigel Thomas, Onterio Burney, Pieair Scott, Thomas June) now who ever is d-cord is doing a poor job of teaching the boys fundamentals. I just want new coaching staff fire everybody and start fresh!

I don't know what game you were watching, but Northside had over twice as many players as Creswell. We only had 20 players on the sideline. Your outnumbered statement makes no sense. And no disrespect taken because over 50% of the Creswell team are 9th graders. We have an awesome coach with football knowledge, (he did play in the NFL) who can do great things at the smallest public school in NC with an 11 man football team. Go Tigers!!!

Just getting back to the coach for riverside I think he should be gone.I mean I can stand on the sidelines and watch his play calling and wonder if he knowa what he is doing.Small playbook and it takes forever to get a play in.I realize there are a lot of players gone but we use to just reload. He does have a few good players but he is asking too much of them,It just is not the way we use to play.Wake up and try something different.

there is no leadership, he lets his players do what they want and he has no backbone to stand up and take control of the team like it ought to be and stop making excuses

If the PHS players talk/write like you have in this post, then none of the players will be eligible to play halfway into the season.

Watching Southside Friday night I saw no leadership on the defense at all. I was born and raised a Chocowinity Indian and became a Seahawk when the two Schools combined, So I know know coach Kellum. He will stop this walking on and off of the field. He will find somebody to lead that defense and do it well. Coach Kellum got these young men to championship fourm once and He will do it again. GO HAWKS.

  • by Great Job on Aug 20, 2011 at 07:40 PM
DH Conley great job, way to start the season you guys deserve it. South Central's new coach way to go on your first win. J H Rose keep your heads up Friday is another chance to show case your talent. North Pitt, Farmville Central and Ayden Grifton keep up the good work. Let's bring the state championship to Pitt again. When one school wins we all win as a community.

Riverside coach ,you take a chance on 4th down too often, thought the punter was there for a reason, poor poor play calling, they knew what you were going to do every time.So predictable,I would have to say this was one of the worst coach games I have ever seen at Riverside, sorry but true the players don@T EVEN ACT LIKE THEY ARE EXCITED

Williamston now Riverside never had a good coach only good players. As the years go by the players get more sorry.

I have to agree that it doesn't take much to learn Riverside's playbook. The coach needs to go...should have been gone years ago. Riverside/Williamston hasn't had a good coach since Harold Robinson was there (they couldn't keep Jim Bob Bryant...he moved on to better things), so until the head coaching position is improved, the team will continue to run the same plays over and over and over. Hopefully, the team's moral will improve. However, I fear this will not be a winning season after losing 20 graduating seniors. Still, I will be at each home game, cheering on the Riverside Knights and showing my support for the home team.
