Kinston's Bullock Named Player Of The Year

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Kinston's Reggie Bullock has been named the 2009-10 Associated Press men's prep basketball player of the year for North Carolina.

Bullock led his team to a second state title in three seasons to earn 17 of a possible 22 votes from sports writers across the state in results released Friday.

Bullock has signed with North Carolina and is a McDonald's All-American. The 6-foot-7 senior guard averaged 25 points and 11 rebounds per game to make the AP All-State men's team for a third straight season.

Kernersville McGuinness' Aaron Toomey was second with three votes. He averaged 29 points per game.

Ian Miller, Charlotte United Faith (2)

AP women's prep basketball player of the year voting:

Cierra Burdick, Matthews Butler (9)

Megan Buckland, Kernersville McGuinness (4)
