Rocky Mount's Mabry Breaks Record At Home

Rocky Mount -- Rocky Mount's Tashawn Mabry scored 31 points (seven reb., two blocks, an assist) in a 95-58 win over Northern Nash Tuesday night. He now has 2,102 pts - passing Elm City's John Virgil (2,100) and Phil Ford (2,093) on the state's all-time list.

Rocky Mount is 14-1, 5-0 in the Big East 3-A Conference.

The Rocky Mount girls also won on Tuesdayt night, 48-29 over Northern Nash.

Rocky Mount senior forward Tashawn Mabry has scored 248 points after 11 games this season as he now has 2,071 career points - just 23 points away from passing former Gryphon and UNC great Phil Ford on the school's all-time boys basketball scoring list.

Mabry, a 6-5 forward, may break the record at home tonight as the Gryphons (13-1 - ranked No. 1 in the 3-A poll, No. 3 in the 3-A poll) will host Big East 3-A foe Northern Nash around 7:30 p.m.
