JH Rose Can't Hold Lead, Loses To South Durham 47-17

JH Rose was up 17-14 at half but lost the momentum and gave up 33 unanswered points in the second half in a 47-17 loss to South Durham.

The Spartans took a 7-0 lead on their first possession but the Rose Rampants came right back and scored a touchdown on their first play from scrimmage. Quarterback AJ Flores mastered some trickery by pitching the ball to Jamal Satchell who then threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to a wide open Austin Chaing.

Rose scored again as Flores followed a strong Marquis Gorham punt return with a 28-yard run into the endzone. The Rampants added a field goal to take a three point cushion into the locker room at halftime.

It all fell apart from there as South Durham put 33 points on the board in the second half. It will be a long week for Rose as they prepare for next week's match-up against D.H. Conley.
