Plymouth Dominates Northside in 47-0 Win

Plymouth -- The Plymouth Vikings improved to 5-0 on the season with a 47-0 win on Monday night over Northside.

The game was moved to Monday following the death of Plymouth High School principal Dr. May Wilkins last week.

The game was also the conference opener for both teams.

The Vikings, who are currently ranked #4 in the latest A.P. Class 1-A state poll, jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and led 29-0 at halftime. Plymouth stayed on the ground most of the night on a weather soaked Foster Field and racked up 424 yards of total offense.

Plymouth will host South Creek Friday night while Northside will host Perquimans.

Northside player, I'm not trying to let anything get personal dude, or say anything to bad mouth any team. If I offended you I apologize. The only ones I would intend to bad mouth is those Perquimans guys, with the way they always played dirty. Northside did have more to choose from, more students when I was in school as well.

All I can say is that the Plymouth Vikings football team is going to do VERY well this year! They have the heart, the soul and the determination to go all the way to state this year! Go Vikings!!! :)

Frank, just as long as it's not the Pirates of Perquimans County! They are the worst acting people ever. You forgot the Cougars and the Seahawks LOL.

PHS=) Ummm, you may want to read my comment again. I am a big supporter of the Plymouth Vikings, and I have friends that coach the Northside Panthers. Yes I was at the game, but no I didn't stand in the rain (maybe you can figure that out). In fact I have been to every Plymouth football game, and watched every play of every game since 1999 except one in 2005 when my daughter was born. I was replying to someone who posted that Plymouth had done Northside dirty. If you read it again you will see I was saying that was not the case. Coach Cody doesn't run the score up on anyone. He is blessed with another great bunch of kids this season. I ask you again to go back and read my original post. I'm not like that. I love the Vikings, but I also like the Panthers, the Knights, the Redskins, the Bruins, and all the rest of the teams in the 4 Rivers Conference. No bashing here, just a big High School football fan.

I'm going to have to say you Vikings will give our Knights one heck of a football game when yall hit westbound 64 to Williamston. As far as Northside, what on earth happened to Northside? They were really good back when I was in high school and went to the state championship the year after I graduated. This year South Creek and Creswell just about beat them. I reckon not having Coach Mitchell is probably is the biggest difference.

To Frank: Where you at the game? Did you stand in the rain and watch every single play they did? Its not always about passing and running the ball. Its about playing and loving the game no matter what the score is. You did not see the game so therefore don't make these assumptions. Northside is a good team I give them their credit, but if Washington Pam Pack beat them just like we did, then there is no comparison. Northside is a great team, the coaches are very excellent in what they do, but in just this round, they couldn't stop those Vikings =). Come to a game first, talk later! Have a Great Day!! Congrats to BOTH Teams !!
