UNC Advances To Super Regional With Wild 12-11 Win

Cody Stubbs hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 13th inning to give North Carolina a 12-11 win to advance the Tar Heels into the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament.

The craziness began in the top of the ninth inning. The Tar Heels led 6-2 until Florida Atlantic hit two home runs, including a two-out grand slam to put the Owls up 8-6. North Carolina then answered with two runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game at 8 and force extra innings.

The game stayed tied at 8 until the top of the 12th when Levi Meyer hit a three-run home run to give the Owls an 11-8 lead. North Carolina came back yet again and put up three runs in the bottom of the 12th to tie the game at 11.
