Report: Kinston's Carter Capps Traded To Marlins

Multiple media outlets, including the Miami Herald, are reporting that Kinston native and Seattle Mariners pitcher Carter Capps has been traded to the Miami Marlins.

Capps, 23, appeared in 53 games with Seattle last season. In 59 innings, he struck out 66 and walked 23. He posted a 3-3 record with a 5.49 ERA. A 6-foot-5, 220-pounder, Capps attended Mount Olive College. He was a third-round Draft pick in 2011

Capps heads to Miami in return for first baseman / outfielder Logan Morrison.

Morrison, 26, is entering his first season of arbitration. A 22nd-round pick by the Marlins in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft, Morrison broke into the big leagues in 2010 as one of the top overall prospects in the Majors.
