PCC’s Radel Named NJCAA Div. I Pitcher of the Week

WINTERVILLE—The National Junior College Athletic Association announced Thursday that Pitt Community College’s Jaimee Radel has been named its Division I Softball Pitcher of the Week.

In 24 innings pitched between March 10-16, the former WITN Player of the Week recorded a 0.88 earned run average and 3-1 record. The sophomore struck out 40 of the batters she faced and walked just four while allowing three earned runs and 12 hits.

A right hander out of Swansboro High School, Radel has a 7-2 overall mark this season to go along with a pair of saves. In 13 appearances, including eight starts, she’s tallied 115 strikeouts and a 1.29 ERA.

PCC is 13-3 overall with a doubleheader against Louisburg College scheduled for Thursday at Winterville Recreation Park. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
