ATLANTA (AP) - Marcus Paige scored all but two of his 19 points in the second half Wednesday, and James Michael McAdoo battled foul trouble to add 17 to lead North Carolina to a 78-65 win over Georgia Tech.
UNC (13-7, 3-4 ACC) pulled steadily away after leading just 26-25 at halftime, in a game played despite Atlanta being hit Tuesday evening by a snow/ice storm that grid-locked much of the region.
Kennedy Meeks scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds, helping the Tar Heels to a 45-33 advantage on the glass. Paige had seven of North Carolina's 20 assists, doubling Georgia Tech's total.
The injury-ravaged Yellow Jackets (11-10, 2-6) were led by Trae Golden with 21 points, 15 in the second half.
An ESPN2 telecast was cancelled because of the inability of ESPN's full production crew to reach the game site.
