Noles Nip Heels For ACC Title

ATLANTA -- Goodbye, Tobacco Road. The Atlantic Coast Conference championship is heading to the Sunshine State.

Michael Snaer scored 18 points and 17th-ranked Florida State used a barrage of 3-pointers to beat No. 4 North Carolina 85-82 for the ACC championship Sunday.

Florida State (24-9), which joined the ACC in 1991, won the men's basketball crown for the first time, showing its 33-point blowout of the Tar Heels during the regular season was no fluke.

But this one went to the wire, as North Carolina (29-5) nearly came all the way back from a 16-point deficit in the first half. P.J. Hairston missed a tying 3 at the buzzer.

It was the first time since Maryland's title in 2004 that a team outside the state of North Carolina won the tournament.

Well it looks like Wal-Mart lost a lot of dollars off of conference championship T-shirt revenue in the North Carolina Wal-Marts after Duke, UNC, and N.C. State all lost.

I feel like the Grinch, my heart is swelling inside my chest after hearing the glorious news that the heels lost to FSU. So come on heel fans, what happened? Was it coaching? Refs? Weight difference in the ball? Daylight savings? No Wal-mart shopping this year for your ACC Championship T's......Bummer

Okay, time now for the "ACC tournament champion is not as good as being the regular season champion" talk from the heel fans. The only "ACC champion" is the tournament champion.....FSU.

It's nice to see Florida State take the ACC Championship instead of UNC, Duke, or N.C. State. I'll pull for them in the NCAA tournament.

Ha, Ha, Ha!!! Carolina had the officals on their side once again and LOST!!! Tarheels were given 24 free throw attempts compared to Seminoles 11 attempts. With the refs in Roy's pocket they STILL LOST!!!
