NC State's Doeren: Mitchell To Start At QB At BC

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Dave Doeren is scrapping the two-quarterback rotation at North Carolina State.

Doeren said Monday that Arkansas transfer Brandon Mitchell will start this week at Boston College and that "it'll be his game."

The Wolfpack (3-6, 0-6 ACC) rotated Mitchell and Colorado State transfer Pete Thomas at Duke and Doeren says "it didn't work."

Mitchell and Thomas combined to complete 13 of 33 passes with three interceptions. Each player threw an interception that Duke's DeVon Edwards returned for a fourth-quarter touchdown in the Blue Devils' 38-20 win.

Doeren says "we're going to work every angle we can" to fix the situation.

N.C. State has lost five straight and has its worst conference record since finishing 0-6 in the ACC in 1959.
