A referee at a local junior varsity basketball game collapsed on the court. Now her family and friends are planning her funeral.

On Tuesday, Emily Murray (also known as Hope) was officiating the JV game between South Lenoir and East Duplin, according to the Kinston Free Press.

A witness tells the paper he noticed the official seemingly try to raise her arm when she fell, hitting her head on the bleachers.

The 36-year-old was taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, according to reports. Murray's obituary said that was where she died Tuesday night.

A visitation for Murray is scheduled to run from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Murray will be laid to rest on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at New Christian Missionary Baptist Church.
