WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) - The Carolina Hurricanes scored three straight goals in just under three minutes in the second period and held on for a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.
Jim Slater scored his first goal of the season 7:48 into the second to give Winnipeg a 1-0 lead.
But Eric Staal responded 37 seconds later with his 17th goal to tie it. Jordan Staal followed his brother with his 15th of the season on a power play, and Riley Nash scored his ninth for the Hurricanes at 11:18.
Hurricanes defenseman Andrej Sekera had a pair of assists, giving him 31 on the season to go with 11 goals.
Bryan Little scored his 21st goal for Winnipeg 1:27 into the third period, but the Hurricanes were able to hold off the Jets for the win.
