The 31st Annual Pitt County Senior Games Start Tuesday

A day of fun and fitness for seniors is ahead as the Greenville-Pitt County Senior Games kick off Tuesday.

The Greenville-Pitt County Senior Games Program encourages health and well-being for residents in Pitt County and surrounding counties.

Seniors from Pitt, Beaufort, Martin, Hertford and Bertie Counties are participating.

Athletes and artists 50 and over will have a chance to compete in more than 40 sports events, and SilverArts, which includes literary, visual, performing and heritage.

Sports events include shuffleboard, horseshoes, walking, swimming, basketball, softball, bicycling and bowling, and much more.

First, second and third place winners will advance and qualify to compete in the N.C. Senior Games State Finals in the fall.

The SilverArts Showcase will open at 2:00pm Tuesday and will include a reception for artists and visitors.

The senior games will start 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Keene Park on County Home Road in Greenville.
