Former ECU Pirate Chad Tracy Retires

Former ECU baseball player Chad Tracy has retired from Major League Baseball.

The 33-year-old Tracy was cut by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim following spring training.

Tracy spent 9 seasons with 4 different teams prior to 2014. His best year was in 2009 with Arizona when he totaled 22 hits in 22 games while batting .367.

The Charlotte-native was selected in the 7th round of the 2001 Major League Baseball draft by the Diamondbacks.
