ECU's Hudson Finishes Fourth At USA Track & Field Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa – Freshman All-American Cameron Hudson turned in a fourth-place finish in the men’s long jump at the 2013 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at Drake Stadium.

Hudson tallied a mark of 6.91m (22-08.00) to place fourth in the long jump in his first-ever appearance at the USA Track and Field Championships. Earlier this season, he garnered All-America honors in the same event after recording an East Carolina school-record tying mark of 7.86m (25-09.50).

During the ECU outdoor campaign, Hudson registered four first-place finishes in the long jump, a trio of second-place finishes in the 100-meter dash, and first-place finishes in the 4x100-meter, 4x200-meter, and 4x400-meter relays.

East Carolina will send Tynita Butts to the field Saturday, June 22, as she will compete in the women’s high jump at the 2013 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Butts is set to take the field at 2:45 p.m. Central Time.
