The ECU Sports information department has confirmed that ECU senior pitcher Tyler Joyner is facing assault charges following an incident at a party last week.
Malcolm Gray, ECU Sports Information Director for Baseball, tells WITN that as of right now the university and head coach Billy Godwin are "In the process of gathering information."
Billy Godwin is already scheduled to meet the media on Wednesday afternoon during the programs annual Baseball Media Day.
Last year Tyler Joyner was 6-2 with a 3.01 earned run average. He was second on the team in innings pitched and tied for team high in strikeouts with 68.
