Conley Falls To Wakefield In Eastern Finals

The D.H. Conley volleyball team (28-1) has been eliminated from the state playoffs after falling to Wakefield 3-0 Tuesday night.

The Vikings' season comes to a close after losing it's only match of the year in the eastern finals.

Wakefield won the first set 25-19. Conley led 18-12 in the second set before the Wolverines went on a 13-3 run to take set two 25-21. The Vikings were once again able to take a late lead in the third at 20-19. But Wakefield answered back and took the decisive set 25-22.

The Wolverines advance to the 4-A state championship game Saturday at Reynolds Coliseum at N.C. State University.
