The news is good on Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme. The team says he won't need surgery on his injured right elbow and is day to day leading up to Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.
Coach John Fox says Delhomme underwent an MRI Monday, which
revealed no serious damage.
Delhomme was hurt late in the third quarter of yesterday's 27-20 win over Atlanta when he was sacked by John Abraham.
Delhomme continued to play until the next series. He was replaced by David Carr, who led the Panthers on two scoring drives.
