More Trouble For Gamecock Football

More bad news for the South Carolina
football program. Safety Emmanuel Cook has been arrested on a gun
charge.
The 19-year-old sophomore started five of the Gamecocks' 10
games last season.
The Richland County Detention Center's Web site says Cook was
charged with unlawful possession of a pistol.
Cook's arrest comes a day after coach Steve Spurrier announced
that three players, including starting quarterback Blake Mitchell,
would sit out the September 1st season opener against
Louisiana-Lafayette because of excessive absences during summer
school. Running back Bobby Wallace and defensive back Chris Hail
also will miss the game.
