Phil Rizzuto Dies at Age 89

The New York Yankees say Hall of Fame shortstop Phil Rizzuto has died.

Rizzuto had been in declining health for several years and was
living at a nursing home in West Orange, New Jersey.

Rizzuto, who was known as "The Scooter," played for the Yankees throughout the 1940s and '50s and won seven World Series titles in 13 seasons of major league play. He went on the become a broadcast analyst for the team and was beloved by a generation of fans for his signature call of "Holy cow!"

Phil Rizzuto was 89 years old.
