New York Mets hurler Pedro Martinez pitched three perfect innings Tuesday in his second rehabilitation start before giving up a three-run home run in the fourth.
The veteran right-hander is working his way back from October
surgery on his throwing shoulder. He threw 60 pitches for the Mets'
Rookie-level Gulf Coast League team and then another 20 fastballs
in the bullpen.
Martinez says it's "a great improvement" from his first rehab
appearance on August eighth, when he struggled through three
innings of a Class-A game and was pulled before reaching his target
