Greenville - One thing is for certain after ECU's first scrimmage on Saturday at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, the Pirates have a strong stable of youthful running backs in the back field. Led by redshirt Freshman Norman Whiltley, the Pirate offenses were able to move the ball against a predominantly reserve defense. True Freshman Jonathan Williams also carried the ball well, showing the spurts of power that made him a star at J.H. Rose. Head Coach Skip Holtz said he hasn't decided whether or not to redshirt Williams for the upcoming season but he was pleased with how all his young backs carried the ball.
