Wake Ends Emotional Search To Replace Prosser

Winston-Salem - Wake Forest has ended an emotional two weeks by promoting Dino Gaudio to head basketball coach. He succeeds Skip Prosser, who died July 26th of an apparent heart attack at the age of 56. The 50-year-old served as the Demon Deacons' associate head coach since 2002 and had ties to Prosser dating back to 1981. It's his first head coaching job since leaving Loyola of Maryland in 2000.
Gaudio is considered one of the top recruiters for a Wake Forest
program that groomed Josh Howard and Chris Paul into NBA stars. His
speedy hiring seems to emphasize stability and continuity to a
recruiting class that's ranked as one of the nation's best.
Gaudio takes over a program that went 126-and-68 during
Prosser's six years on the bench.
