ECU's Ferguson Says There is No Offer From OSU

Greenville - Last night NBC affiliate KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City reported that Oklahoma State has offered an assistant coaching job to current ECU Men's Basketball Assistant Chris Ferguson. WITN Sports Director Billy Weaver contacted Coach Ferguson by phone this afternoon and while he did decline to comment on camera, he did tell WITN that he has not interviewed for the job at Oklahoma State and that he has not been contacted directly by OSU Head Coach Sean Sutton.
However, Ferguson told WITN that he has been asked by an Oklahoma State assistant coach if he would be interested in the job. While on a recruiting trip in July, Ferguson was told by others in the basketball coaching circle that OSU Sean Sutton had inquired about Ferguson to them. Sean Sutton and his father and former OSU Head Coach Eddie Sutton offered Ferguson a job some seven years ago while Ferguson was an assistant at Tennessee so there is a sense of familiarity between the coaches. We will keep you updated on any other news coming out of ECU or Oklahoma State.
