ANGOULEME, France - A crash after hitting a spectator's dog couldn't stop crowd favorite Sandy Casar from winning today's stage of the Tour de France.
The 29-year-old Frenchman scraped his hip in the crash and went
on to win a Tour stage for the first time.
Spanish rider Alberto Contador keeps the overall lead as the
doping-tainted race nears its Sunday finish in Paris.
Contador heads into tomorrow's 35-mile individual time trial
leading Australia's Cadel Evans by one minute and 50 seconds.
American Levi Leipheimer is third, two minutes and 49 seconds off the pace.
