Texas-El Paso football coach Mike Price is expected to be released from a local hospital later today after treatment for a blocked artery leading to his heart.
UTEP spokeswoman Angela Olivas says doctors performed an angioplasty to open the artery, then inserted a stent to keep it open.
She says doctors discovered the condition yesterday while performing routine tests on the 61-year-old Miners coach.
It's not clear at which El Paso hospital Price was receiving his treatment.
Price is starting his fourth year as the Miners' head coach. Previously, Price was head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide -- but he was fired before coaching a single game. That happened after an alcohol-fueled evening at a Pensacola, Florida, strip club.
He also previously held the top jobs at Weber State and Washington State.
