NASCAR Driver Free After Weekend In Jail

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Aaron Fike and his fiancee are free after spending the weekend in jail on drug charges. That's according to Fike's attorney.

Fike and Cassandra Davidson are both from Cornelius. Police say they were arrested Saturday in the parking lot of Kings Island amusement park north of Cincinnati after security officers observed suspicious activity in Fike's sport utility vehicle.

Police found syringes and a brown substance believed to be heroin.

Fike and Davidson are charged with drug abuse, which is a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, which is a misdemeanor. They had their initial court appearance today.

Fike's attorney says his client entered a not guilty plea to the misdemeanor charge, and agreed to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation as a condition of his release.

Fike drives the Number One Toyota Tundra for Red Horse Racing
and ranks eighth in the point standings this week.
