Bobcats Get Rid Of Knight

The N-B-A's Charlotte Bobcats waived veteran Brevin Knight today, leaving them without a backup point guard.

Knight was scheduled to make just over four (m) million dollars next season but had a buyout clause in his contract for one-point-five (m) million.

Knight started in the team's inaugural season in 2004-2005. But 2005 first-round draft pick Raymond Felton eventually replaced Knight in the starting lineup.

Now, the Bobcats likely will need to sign another point guard to back up Felton, who averaged 14 points and seven assists last season.

The 31-year-old Knight averaged nine-point-one points and six-point-six assists last season when he was limited to 45 games.
