Gamecocks Top Tar Heels, Force Game 3

Chapel Hill - South Carolina held off another North
Carolina comeback and completed a suspended-game 8-to-6 victory
over the Tar Heels.
The win evens the best-of-three super regional series at one
game apiece.
Game 3 is tonight in Chapel Hill.
Game 2 was suspended after a delay of nearly 90 minutes Saturday
night because of lightning and heavy rain with the Gamecocks
leading 8-to-5 entering their at-bat in the seventh.
Once it resumed, the Tar Heels picked up their latest comeback
attempt, pulling within two runs on pinch-hitter Kyle Seager's
run-scoring sacrifice fly.
Reliever Jeff Jeffords worked a perfect ninth for his sixth
save, handing North Carolina (52-13) its first N-C-A-A tournament
loss at Boshamer Stadium since 1983.
