Tali Robich Joins Lady Pirate Coaching Staff

East Carolina University

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Tali Robich, a former Lady Pirate standout, has joined the women's basketball staff at East Carolina University, according to an announcement made by head coach Sharon Baldwin-Tener. A native of Rockingham, N.C., Robich has served as an assistant coach at UNC Wilmington for the past two seasons.

Robich will assume the assistant position previously occupied by Samantha Young, who left in April to pursue other career opportunities. Her primary duties will be coaching the guard position players but will also be involved in recruiting and all other aspects of the program.

Before heading to UNC Wilmington, Robich spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Okaloosa-Walton College (Fla,). A four-year letterwinner and team captain as a Lady Pirate, Robich is still ranked in the career top 10 in three different categories (three-point field goals made, assists and steals). Robich was a regular on the Dean’s List at ECU, being named a Scholar-Athlete each of her four years in Greenville and served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She was the Tournament MVP at the 2000 Pirate Classic and an All-Tournament Team honoree at the UNC Greensboro Marriott Classic in 2002.

"I am excited to announce the addition of Tali Robich to my staff,” Baldwin-Tener said. “Her experiences in coaching allow her to complement my current staff and she is looking forward to helping us create even more success here at East Carolina. As a former Lady Pirate, she has an understanding of our program and has a love for ECU that is contagious.”

Robich earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from East Carolina in 2003, and is a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
