Tickets to the highly-anticipated 2007 NCAA Chapel Hill Super Regional between No. 3 national seed North Carolina and South Carolina were sold out Tuesday. The UNC Ticket Office held a private presale to groups closely associated with the Tar Heel baseball program, and they made sure that Boshamer Stadium will be packed for the final
weekend in its current state.
The Tar Heels and Gamecocks will open the best-of-three series Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN and will also play at 7 p.m. Saturday on ESPN. The third game, if needed, will played Sunday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. Jones Angell and Adam Lucas will have the call for all three games for the Tar Heel Sports Network.
Carolina drew more than 14,000 fans to the six-game Chapel Hill Regional last weekend, which the Tar Heels captured with dramatic wins over East Carolina and Western Carolina. UNC is making its second straight Super Regional appearance and first-ever at home.
Home to the Tar Heels since 1972, the current Boshamer Stadium will be
demolished later this month and construction will begin on a brand-new,
state-of-the-art ballpark that will feature more than 4,000 chair-back
